GOTS has developed and posted an entertaining new four minute video made by Simple Show on their website, in which GOTS is explained in simple and engaging story line graphics. The two main objectives are to make clear that only using organic fiber and not having the finished products processed in a sustainable fashion is a step in the right direction but not enough (the whole supply chain must be sustainable), and that only if a product shows the GOTS logo with the license number and certifiers’ reference one can be sure that it is GOTS-certified. This new video is in addition to the GOTS film, which can be viewed in 10 languages on their website.
GOTS has created three “Why GOTS” fact sheets outlining how companies benefit with GOTS certification, how official bodies, organisations and institutions support GOTS, and how consumers benefit from GOTS. Following up on the successful joint Soil Association / GOTS Cottoned On campaign, the new consumer flyer is based on the Cottoned On infographic. The flyer includes a QR Code linking to the new Simple Show video and highlights the benefits of certified organic textiles.
For 2015, various GOTS events are planned. Among those are the presence at Munich Fabric Start in Germany in February, as well as at Natural Products Expo West in California and at the Organic Trade Association’s Policy Conference in Washington, D.C. in April.
